About Us

Our mission is to equip widows and orphans for a productive life, offering hope to the hopeless through the love of Jesus Christ.

Where We Serve:

Wiphan ministers to widows and orphans living in dire spiritual and physical poverty in the compounds (slums) outside of Ndola, Zambia.

Who We Serve:

Wiphan ministers to three groups of children living in the compounds (slums) of Ndola.
  • Double Orphans, those children who have lost both parents.
  • Single Orphans, those children who have lost one parent.
  • Vulnerable Children, those children who have both parents but are at risk because they lack adequate care and protection from the adults in their lives.

Our Strategy:

Wiphan empowers widows and orphans through the gospel, education and skills training. Wiphan employs native Christian Zambians who are called to minister to the spiritual, educational and physical needs of the widows and orphans.

Spiritual: We introduce widows and orphans to the saving grace of Jesus Christ through discipleship, mentoring relationships and Bible Study.

Educational: By providing an education and skills training, we empower widows and orphans to provide for themselves. We educate 750+ orphans annually, operate 3 schools, and offer skills training to 360 widows and older orphans (over 18) in keyboarding, hospitality (hotel/lodging industry) and jewelry crafting/sales.

Physical: We meet our 1-7 grade students' basic needs with a safe school environment, medical care and a daily school lunch.

Statement of Faith:

At Wiphan Care Ministries our motivation and actions are based on our statement of faith. We beleive that our Savior, Jesus Christ, is clear when he commands us in James 1:27 to look after widows and orphans. As we travel and minister to those in need, we believe that His name is to be gloried first and foremost and that He has provided a way for us to fulfill His great commision.
